Call me mud
Foundations and water have to be taken seriously in Finland, because the frost is so severe. Digging the holes for the foundations and the ditches by hand gave us good exercise after spending the winter indoors. After the work we were tired and dirty, and worst of all, there was not sauna we could go to! Anyway, the work got done.
